The Focus: Property refresh, design for short-term rentals (Airbnb), space division without walls, and reuse of what the apartment already had.
A T0 in Santa Teresa, for the short-term rental market. The square footage was generous, but the original layout did not use it: the apartment read as cramped, the kind of listing a guest scrolls past. The client wanted the bed separated from the living area, without a wall that would cut the light from the balcony windows. Most of the work went into the floor plan. The answer was an open-shelf wooden bookcase: it screens the bed off, and daylight passes through. We kept the sofa and its pillows and reused vintage vases. The shutters took the longest: cracked by Porto's weather, stripped and refinished by hand under ceilings over 2.5m.
The Result: A T0 that keeps its light, separates sleeping from living, and no longer photographs as cramped.

The Focus: T4 family layout, storage children can reach on their own, reuse of the family's furniture, and building around fixed obstacles.
Planning and interior design of a T4 in Matosinhos, for a family moving into their permanent home. The brief was a layout that holds a daily routine, with storage the children can reach alone. Moving is expensive, so we reused the furniture they already owned: a wardrobe became a toy cabinet at their height. The heaters sat where the sofa had to go, so we built a shelf behind it that runs over them and doubles as a tabletop. A pillar stood in the middle of the living room, so we clad it in wood and added shelves for family photos. The open plan faces the sea, and the children's rooms follow the Montessori method, in wood, beige and white.
The Result: A T4 where the routine has a place, the pillar and heaters are part of the design, and most of the furniture came with the family.
