The Focus: T2 renovation, reuse of existing carpentry, continuity across a narrow layout, and a balcony that works in Porto's rain.

A full renovation of a T2 in São João, for clients moving into their permanent home. The apartment is long and narrow, and they wanted an extra-wide TV. We reused the built-in wardrobe: the top came out, the screen went into the wall behind drywall at the right viewing distance, and the bottom became a floating console. In the bathrooms we replaced the damaged mosaic with wood-look floor tiles matching the parquet elsewhere, so the floor reads as one surface. The balcony was split between a laundry and a small outdoor strip; we took the wall down and glazed it floor to ceiling: open in summer, closed in the rain. In the main bedroom the AC moved off the window wall, so curtains hang from the ceiling and block the streetlights.

The Result: A T2 with one continuous floor, one full balcony, and a TV wall that fits.
